Collages

In my collages, I explore the encounter between free painterly gesture and structure by cutting papers apart and reassembling them. This process is deeply satisfying to me: in cutting, one form disappears and another is found. The duality between clarity and surprise guides this practice, which has accompanied me since my youth. Collage embodies improvisation and spontaneity and reflects my way of thinking, in which things often connect that seem unrelated at first glance.
